The Royal Quintet plays music in the spirit of 30´s and 40´s with fresh and classy touch.
Our program includes classics of vocal and instrumental jazz, made known by several well known artists and composers like Duke Ellington, Gershwin, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins and Louis Armstrong and sung by Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn just to mention a few. We also play some classics of finnish popular music and some tunes from "Carpenters" music.
At the moment we are working on two sets of soul classics and jump jive for those who wish to party.
The Royal Quintet wants to take care of the audience, create an atmosphere that entertains and is easy to listen and dance to.
TRQ was put together of top professional musicians that performs always with style – in tuxedos and evening dresses.
The vocalist and violinist is a beautiful, very talented and brilliant Heidi Mantere (more about Heidi in www.heidi.fi ). The rest of that band works on the top of Finnish music scene in studios, clubs, theatres, orchestras. All band members also teaches in Sibelius Academy, Helsinki Pop Jazz Conservatory and East Helsinki Music School.
TRQ is a quintet and that´s how we´d like to keep it. But the band can be modified smaller or bigger to suit all your needs, starting from solo performances and duettes.
